Online sales were healthy this holiday season, and mobile played a big part. Sales were up 16.4% over the previous Christmas, and up 10% on Dec 26. On both days, mobile sales accounted for nearly 20% of the total sales.
I spend a lot of my time designing websites and working with developers to make them functional. After watching a special on Steve Jobs last week on PBS, I sat on my iPad and felt inspired. Jobs was quoted, “Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact, and that is, everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you ... the minute that you understand that you can poke life ... that you can change it, you can mould it ... that’s maybe the most important thing.” The statement left me thinking —how can we have a positive influence on this world? What can we do to influence change? How can we have an impact with the people we interact with each day?
