2009 Fargo Flood

The adage, “a picture is worth a thousand words,” is never so true as with the above graph of the 2009 Fargo flood. Hopefully, what it shows is the Red River on its way to a historically high crest of around 41’ (approximately 23’ over floodstage). We at Sundog and our surrounding communities have been distracted the last several days as many people in our company – and thousands of volunteers from the area – helped protect the city by volunteering time and muscle to the effort. It is our sincere wish that this Herculean effort will pay off as we approach the crest of the Red River in Fargo.
Officials are projecting that the water will remain at critically high levels for quite some time, so even if we crest soon, we are not out of the woods (water) yet. This event, has once again confirmed what a wonderful community we live in, and how fortunate we are to be among people who pull together to create amazing efforts.
