Sony Bravia Ads to Feature “Colour Like No Other” in NYC this month

If you happen to be walking around New York City this month, watch out for the giant Play-Doh bunnies.image Sony brand Bravia is at it again, and they’re in town working on the third commercial in a series of ads for their LCD televisions. Play-Doh bunnies selling TVs, you ask?  If you know anything about Bravia’s ad campaign titled “Colour Like No Other,” the colorful rabbits shouldn’t come as a shock.

Sony-Bravia’s slogan doesn’t lie. The company is more known for their must-see colorful, visually delectable commercials than for the product they’re selling. The first ad, filmed in 2005, featured 250,000 brightly colored rubber bouncy balls being released onto a hilly San Francisco street as residents watched in awe.  In 2006, a second TV spot showcased a tower in Glasgow, Scotland being covered in rainbow-colored paint through 1,400 separate explosions.

The campaign has generated tremendous buzz, and Sony-Bravia is hoping to use the web to get people talking about the third ad. In a brilliant PR move, Sony spokesperson Ruth Speakman announced that she will be using social networking site Twitter to keep followers updated on the filming of the Play-Doh commercial in the Big Apple this month. Check out this blog for some cool pictures of the shoot, and watch out for those bunnies!
