Sundog Clients Donate to Flood Relief
Several Sundog clients were affected by the historic flood waters that ravaged the Red River Valley. We applaud their efforts—as individuals and companies—to protect their properties and support neighbors in need. We also salute two clients that stepped up with significant financial contributions to the flood fight:
Dakota Magic Casino
When the chips were down and stakes were high, Dakota Magic Casino pitched in to help their northern neighbors fight the Red River. General Manager Danny White, along with many of the staff of the Hankinson casino, spent one Friday filling sandbags at the Fargodome after delivering a check for $10,000 and more than $5,000 worth of food and bottled water to the Salvation Army.
Dakota Magic Casino is owned and operated by the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate and is located just off Interstate 29, 60 miles south of Fargo-Moorhead.
Midcontinent Communications
After the Grand Forks flood of ’97 and this year’s epic flooding in Fargo-Moorhead and Bismarck, Midcontinent Communications employees joke about needing amphibious company vehicles for North Dakota service areas. Nevertheless, their teams sprang into action protecting their systems, employees’ homes, as well the property of friends and neighbors. Many also assisted with evacuation efforts.
In addition, the Midcontinent Media Foundation donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross for flood relief efforts in North Dakota and is offering matching funds for employee gifts up to an additional $3,000.
The Midcontinent Media Foundation, established in 1987, is the charitable arm of the Midcontinent family of companies. It provides charitable support for non-profit organizations who promote socially desirable goals within the communities served by Midcontinent Media, Inc. and its affiliates.
