Sundog Receives National Honor

August 22, 2011 – Sundog, a Fargo, N.D.-based marketing and technology services company, has been named to Advertising Age magazine’s list of Best Places to Work in Marketing and Media.

The industry publication recognized 30 firms across the country that encourage creativity, innovation and collaboration. The list includes agencies in New York, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago and Minneapolis. Each company is profiled in the latest Advertising Age issue, which is also available online.

Advertising Age praised the Sundog culture, citing the company’s ongoing Tech Talk series, quarterly showcase lunches, weekly gatherings to share creative and inspiring ideas, Friday afternoon socials and annual traditions.

“We’re extremely proud to be honored by Advertising Age,” said Brent Teiken, Sundog chief executive officer. “It’s even more gratifying that the criteria includes team member feedback and outside, independent evaluation. We’ve built an authentic culture that appeals to employees and clients – and we’re grateful to be recognized by our industry.”

The honor was announced to Sundog team members during an impromptu meeting on Monday morning. To celebrate, they’ll be treated to a day of catered meals, events and rewards before a company-wide meeting and party in the afternoon.

Sundog employees enjoy:

  • Frequent employee gatherings to share industry expertise, client projects and creative ideas
  • A voluntary “Sundog Experts” program that rewards employees for writing blog posts, whitepapers and tweets in their areas of expertise
  • Social gatherings including fishing trips, holiday parties and weekly get-togethers
  • Company-sponsored family events such as pool parties and summer picnics
  • Exercise and wellness programs including fitness challenges, marathon training groups, volleyball leagues and softball teams
  • Monthly chair massage days
  • Opportunities to participate in community service activities
  • One of the region’s most distinctive, modern office spaces on three floors of the Multiband Building
  • Flexible, family-friendly working hours
  • Open use of Twitter, Facebook and other social media channels on company-provided smart phones

The Advertising Age honor is the second time Sundog has been recognized for its work environment. In February, Sundog was named Best Place to Work in North Dakota by the North Dakota Young Professionals (NDYP). The organization evaluated company benefits, advancement opportunities and whether the organization is an outstanding place for young professionals to work.

Sundog offers a broad variety of marketing and technology services including strategy development, video production, marketing analytics, creative development, online marketing, web site and application development, social media and mobile marketing.

The company was formed in 2003 when Sundog Interactive, GL Ness and Bankshot Productions merged under a single holding company. In 2005 the companies assumed the Sundog name. One year later, the company moved into a single location in the Multiband Building in southwest Fargo.
