53 More Reasons To Take Mobile Seriously

Are you looking for one or two or fifty-three reasons to take mobile seriously? Then B.L. Ochman’s recently published blog post, Be Mobile or Be Dust, is an excellent place to start. It, along with the referenced report by Burson-Marsteller and Proof Integrated Communications highlights 53 reasons that companies can no longer ignore mobile. The report is very informative and thorough, but by now it shouldn’t be news to any of us. The time to embrace mobile is NOW!

The biggest mistake I still see companies make is treating mobile marketing as a subset of their online marketing strategy. Mobile marketing has different modes of delivery, different target audiences, different actionable steps, and different measures of ROI. Why are we still lumping it in with online marketing? Plus, mobile devices are poised to become more numerous than PCs by the end of this year. That alone should tell us that mobile shouldn’t take a back seat to online marketing anymore.

Ochman had it right. Be mobile or be dust. If you don’t embrace mobile now, you will be left behind in the marketing world.
