Adobe XD is Inspired

Adobe XD is, by far, the most interesting and forward thinking of any software company UX design team I’ve ever seen. Yeah, that does sound a bit over-the-top, but to see what I’m talking about all one must do is head over to the XD homepage. Not your normal corporate mission statement, or the vague statements of purpose that Adobe typically uses to confuse users on its product pages.  It’s an eZine. And a pretty interesting one to boot. In the current issue, the topics range from UI consistency to the Buddhism of Brand. (Check it out)

Their most popular initiative, to date, is the collaboration with Wired Magazine. They teamed up to create a multimedia magazine that, I agree, may help to solve the problems the print industry is having now. But that description doesn’t do it justice…. this video does:

Adobe’s obviously taking the importance of user experience to heart. With 100+ designers and software engineers collaborating with similar goals as Adobe’s Open Screen Project, it’s an impressive venture to be sure. They’ve created some excellent work streaming HD video with Nike SB and putting MTV’s Jackass on AIR.

These guys are seriously all over:
