Coen Ups Prediction On The Growth of Online Advertising
Robert Coen, a leading Internet prognosticator for Universal McCann, has increased his growth estimate for Internet ad spending in the United States. According to a MediaPost story (free registration may be required), Internet ad growth is now expected to grow 25 percent over 2005 figures. This demonstrates last year’s fast online advertising growth rate of 19 percent is still continuing to accelerate.
Although the growth of Internet advertising is increasing at a rapid pace, Coen predicts overall ad spending to increase by only 5.6 percent. It should also be noted that Coen’s figures exclude search engine marketing which continues to experience its own meteoric rise with Google growing 57 percent alone.
