Do We Really Get Work Done AT Work?
Where did you get your last great work idea? In the shower? While driving? The coffee shop? The library?
For many of us…our best ideas, and often our best work, happens anywhere other than at the office.
Jason Fried is the co-founder and president of 37Signals, which creates software that helps people work together online. He is also the author of a new book, “Rework.”
Here is a recent seminar he gave which was sponsored by TED, a non-profit dedicated to “ideas worth spreading.”
One of Jason’s ideas: “No-Talk Thursdays.” A day of complete silence in the office. “You’ll be blown away by how much work you can get done in one day.” He has lots of great ideas. Eliminate meetings? Maybe not entirely practical…but he does a very good job of showing just how ridiculous many office traditions can be.
Feel free to watch it…at work!
