Facebook and Salesforce Leading the Direction for Businesses

I read an inspiring article the other day, Salesforce CEO: Facebook is Leading the Direction For Where ‘We’re Going As An Industry, by Rip Empson of Tech Crunch.  For those of you that don’t know what Salesforce is, it is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software solution. But it’s more than just a CRM solution. As one of the leading software platforms in the cloud, Salesforce is changing the way businesses interact by making things more effective and efficient through lead management, chatter and social enterprise. Salesforce will help redefine the future of business through its focus on social enterprise.

Marc Benioff, the CEO of the booming CRM solution, took the stage at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco last week.  He stated in his presentation, “I really think that Facebook is becoming a vision of what the consumer operating system is. Everything I want, I’m beginning to see on Facebook.” I couldn’t agree more. Benioff offers easy, Facebook-like CRM features for your business with things like Chatter, which we use here at Sundog.  Through Chatter, we are able to reduce office email, track projects and have a company book clubs and other groups.

Benioff also stated, “I’d like to be doing as many amazing things as Facebook is.” He continued on to say that Facebook is essentially driving the direction in which the entire business world is moving. By working with social tools like Radian6, Benioff and Salesforce are fueling the social enterprise movement. Businesses that get on board now will succeed, and those that don’t will fall behind. Social media is about more than just keeping up with friends and family, it’s about the connection, listening to consumers and learning from their insights to propel a movement to make better business decisions.
