Google Launches Spreadsheet. Sort Of.

Today, Google announced Google Spreadsheet and began taking emails from people interested in getting an invite. It seems after the Google Analytics mess, they’ve learned their lesson and are controlling the traffic flow on some of the apps they release. While not all the apps are at the same stage of development, it seems Google has more or less released the rumored Google Office Pack, minus a presentation tool which I’m sure they have locked up in the lab somewhere.

If you’re interested in trying it out, I suggest submitting your invite request as soon as you can. In the meantime, you might want to check out iRows or NumSum to give you something to compare Google Spreadsheet to.

How about comparing it with EditGrid, too?

I’ve done a simple comparison here, too.

Thanks for the tip. I just received my Googl Spreadsheet invite so I’ll check them both out.

I’ll post my thoughts once I’ve had a chance to use them a bit.
