Internet Ad Revenues Up 34%

While advertising growth in most traditional media has remained flat or declined, a new report by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) shows that online ad revenues were up 33.9 percent in the third quarter of 2005 over the same period one year ago. The report was developed in partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Online advertising is on track to exceed 12 billion in revenues in 2005.

According to the news release on the IAB site, CEO Greg Stuart attribues the growth to the fact that interactive is “an essential medium to reach and engage [a company’s] consumers in more immersive brand experiences…moreover, interactive advertising continues to prove itself as the most cost effective medium.”
