Internet Rated As Best Source of Information On Candidates
A Burst Media study says voters consider the Web the best source of information on political candidates. Asked to rate top sources, 27 percent of the respondents said the Internet was best, followed by TV at about 20 percent, and newspapers at approximately 18 percent.
In the survey, 40 percent of likely voters had visited a candidate’s website sometime during the campaign. In addition, 65 percent of those who had visited a candidate’s website had also checked out the opposition’s.
In addition, one-third of likely voters had visited an issue advocacy website during the election season. Two-thirds rated candidate’s and advocacy groups’ websites as helpful.
The report polled 900 likely voters.
