Learning HTML and CSS one line of code at a time

I spend a lot of my time designing websites and working with developers to make them functional. When talking to developers about what design limitations I have, I think it is important for me to understand their explanations. I have learned a lot by working side by side with developers over the past 4 years, but I always want to learn more.

Knowing a little about development is good, but knowing more than a little is even better. I just started reading a great book for anyone interested in learning HTML and CSS. The book Head First: HTML with CSS & XHTML by Elisabeth Freeman & Eric Freeman was recommended by a coworker when I asked her how she learned to develop her designs into functioning websites. I sat down one afternoon and quickly made it through half of the book. I would recommend this book to any beginners that want to learn HTML and CSS. It was very easy to follow and allows the user to learn as fast as they are comfortable.

I have already used the skills I have learned from this book at work when talking with developers. It is very handy to be able to look at their code and understand it. Designing websites is still where my passion lies, but knowing how my sites are developed will help me immensely when I am creating my designs. I would encourage all designers to check out this book.

Hello,

Thanks for the link for that book! I am at Rasmussen College in Fargo; learning HTML and CSS as we speak, so this will be a nice book to supplement my new education on the exciting world of creating websites!!
