Made in America - Patriotic Marketing Gets Results
In an AdweekMedia/Harris Poll conducted in late July, 2010, six in ten respondents said that a, “Made in America,” label would make them more likely to buy a product. It seems a slow economy and sluggish job market is making Americans more patriotic in their purchasing decisions.
Is your product made in America? Now’s the time to flaunt it in your marketing – especially if your product is aimed at an older demographic. The older the poll participants, the stronger the pull, with 39% of people 55 and older saying that they are, “much more likely,” to buy an American-made product than 15% of 18 to 34-year-olds. Hardly any people surveyed said a made in America sticker would make them less likely to buy a product. So go ahead and shout U.S.A! U.S.A! And make it loud and clear, because in this economy, it can only help.
