McCartney Playing Non-Stop At A Starbucks Near You
If you’re loading up on your favorite caffeinated drink at one of the 10,000 Starbucks locations today (as an estimated 6 million of us will be doing, including the author of this blog), you’ll hear playing non-stop Paul McCartney’s new release CD, Memory Almost Full.
As reported by the Associated Press today, traditional music-store CD release events have grown a bit stale, say analysts, which is giving Starbucks a new marketing avenue to tap its customer base and take the music to where the customers are thanks to its own Hear Music record label and the world-wide Listening Event.
Will this non-stop CD play drive baristas and customers nutty? Company execs say they’re not worried about McCartney overload. And that means you can have your double-tall half-caff no-whip half the mocha-mocha –and get a new McCartney CD to go, or listen to it all day long at the coffee shop.
