Ovation Captures a Live Show for Your Digital Device
Ovation is a live digital music distribution kiosk available at concert venues. The Ovation kiosk allows you to purchase the live concert you just experienced and download it directly to your mp3 player, phone, camera or have it emailed to you.

The kiosks are available at no cost to the performer or venue. The venue and artist receive a percentage of gross sales generated from the kiosks, plus the venue is allowed to use the digital signage above the kiosks, free. The Ovation kiosks are still in the initial roll-out phase with only a single installation at the Greek Theatre in LA, so sales have been small (only 1,200 downloads with no mention of cost per download). Additional photos are available on the Migratory Music Facebook page.
The questions I have that remain unanswered, are: what is the quality of the recordings (HD with 5.1 Surround?), cost of the downloads?, and are the downloads digital rights managed (DRM) so they cannot be shared?
If there is true demand from the consumer, and the music industry realizes that, this is not a threat to their intellectual property, but rather another channel (and revenue stream) to connect to their fan base, the potential is huge.

Beverly Hills Porsche, sponsor of the 2011 concert season at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, used the Ovation Tower.
