R.I.P. Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Inc, passed away on October 5th, 2011, at the age of 56. Jobs leaves behind a legacy in the technology industry that will be matched by few, if any.
Jobs’s leadership helped usher in breakthroughs in the world of computing that changed the very face of computing itself. Most of us associate him with the Mac line, the iPod, the iPhone, and the iPad. But how many of us remember the older computers, like the Lisa, the Apple II series, or the NeXT? Personally, I first learned to program on my family’s Apple IIc computer in the early 80’s. I remember punching out line after line of BASIC to create small games, and I have been hooked ever since. Jobs was also the driving force behind Pixar. In 15 years, the animation company has produced some of the most loved films ever.
Jobs’s influence can be seen in our everyday lives, and we owe a great deal of thanks to a man who was one of the modern age’s greatest forward thinkers and innovators.
Rest In Peace Steve Jobs.
