Real Keywords. Real Conversations. Real-Time.
Twitter and Facebook are all we are hearing about these days. For many of us, these social communities may even be our first stop online and our favorite website. If you are active on Twitter, you are probably familiar with the section of ‘Trending Topics’ located on the right-hand column of the account homepage. These topics display keywords that are used the most often in Twitter tweets. We are able to click on these keywords to see the specific conversations containing these trending topics in real time.
But what if you want to see what conversations are currently happening about the next product you want to purchase, a favorite soft drink or sports team that isn’t a top Twitter trend? The Twitter search feature is a great resource to find real-time conversations by keywords.
If you are not currently active on Twitter, then you might prefer the Facebook search feature. As Facebook allows more than just 140 characters and has all types of groups, profiles, pages along with status updates and wall posts, this leading social network gives each user the ability to search among these settings whether it’s the name of a friend you want to find or conversations on keywords you care about.
If you run a business, coach a local team or a student writing a report, you may find it beneficial to search some keywords within your area to scan real-time conversations that are happening. Just another reason why these social sites can stay at the top of your favorite website list.
