The Future Isn’t What It Used to Be

That’s probably essential, since the innovation rate, as reflected in U.S. patent applications, has more than doubled during their lives, Program Director Merton Flemings says.

For those of us less comfortable with rapid technology changes, the key will likely be finding the expertise to assist us. For the young people polled by the program, adapting will be less of an issue — most felt they had learned important skills for success in problem solving, creative thinking and leadership. We’ll see if that holds true in the future.
