The Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Holiday Campaigns

Reaching the holidays, there are many things to look forward to. Outside of the Black Friday deals, listening to Christmas music and spending extra time with family, I also pay close attention to the different campaigns companies are using to promote their business or product.

Below you will see two campaigns I thought were well developed and one campaign with a unique idea.

First let’s take a look at our favorite store Target:

Target’s #ChristmasChamp is on its third year of their spokeswoman during the holiday season. This year the campaign has more klout than any other year. The execution of the strategy was well thought out, developed and promoted. From the copy writing, art direction, talent and promotion plan, there was not a step missed or overlooked. Using television ads, YouTube videos and keeping the conversation going on Twitter with a unique hashtag, Target has continued to impress me once again.

The Muppets not only targeting kids this holiday season but adults too. They have used social media to be the forefront to drive their promotional strategy.

From popular movie parodies like the Hangover to having a Hangout on Google+ with the Muppets, the team behind this project took the right people to revive this brand in a current and modern light. Their Facebook pages have a distinct tone and voice for the characters featured as well as an overall Muppets page to engage with them all. Well done Muppets. I will be seeing you in theaters soon.

JCPenney, to my surprise this year, grabbed my attention in their Christmas product: a voice message QR code gift tag. This product allows you to customize a message and then as someone scans that QR code will hear your message. How neat to think of surprising your kids with a gift tag from Santa Claus or to a loved one overseas.

Enjoy the holiday season everyone and keep your eyes and ears open for these holiday campaigns.
