Time’s Choice Demonstrates The Power Of The Unexpected

While some might disagree with Time’s choice for Person of the Year, the decision demonstrates the power of delivering the unexpected vs. the obvious in what has become an iconic December announcement for the magazine. Time’s supporters and naysayers were everywhere yesterday on the Internet, TV, radio, newspapers, and blogs discussing whether or not “you” deserved the distinction they’ve bestowed, but, hey, just think how good it will look on your resume.

Time’s Person of the Year designation is already a major media event, and like it or not, their decision accomplished a useful purpose: igniting a powerful conversation about whether or not that choice should have been Ahmadinejad, Barack Obama, the YouTube guys, “you,” or someone else.
