Welcome To The 43-Hour Day
A new report released by Yahoo and OMD shows the average family member has 43 hours of time allocated in a 24-hour day. Obviously, there are big categories that chew up a lot of time such as sleep and work, but according to the study, people report spending an average of 16 hours per day with media and technology. The fact that people list 43 hours of activities in one day means there is a substantial amount of multi-tasking going on.
The reported is titled, “It’s a Family Affair: the Media Evolution of Global Families in a Digital Age.” Some of the major time activities beside work and sleep include:
Spending time with family: 4.5 hours
Online: 3.6 hours
